We are a Pentecostal church on Maple Avenue in Yorkton, Saskatchewan — planted in 2011, part of a worldwide family, and built on one conviction: God put something in you, and it was never meant to stay buried.
A Yorkton church that started with a question
In 2011, after months of praying about whether Yorkton needed another church, Pastors Dag and Bukky Lawale opened the doors of the Yorkton branch of Destiny International Christian Assembly. The answer they kept getting was not another church — it was a church where people are actually known.
Fifteen years on, that is still the measure. We are Pentecostal in conviction and wide open in practice: worship is lively, the teaching comes straight from Scripture, and nobody is asked to have their life sorted out before they walk in the door. Whether you grew up in church or have never set foot in one, there is a seat here with your name on it.
Ten volunteer ministry teams keep this place running — from the choir and the prayer band to the people who set up chairs and follow up when someone goes quiet. That is the whole idea. Everyone here is carrying something worth releasing.
Meet Pastors Dag & Bukky Lawale
Pastor Dag gave his life to Christ as an undergraduate at the University of Ibadan and has been a teacher of the word ever since. He preaches to be understood, not admired — his aim is that people grow in their faith and come to see the real purpose behind their existence.
Pastor Bukky co-labors with her husband and carries the same burden from a different angle: that every child of God would be rooted and established in Christ, not just attending. She became a believer in her first year at Obafemi Awolowo University.
Between them they hold degrees in medicine and pharmacy — and a shared passion for the Lord, the Word, and the salvation of souls. If you visit on a Sunday, they would genuinely like to meet you afterwards.

Establishing Ministries and Releasing Destinies through the preaching of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, being the power of God unto salvation to all that believe.
Our Mission & Purpose
To exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and make His truth and love known; to evangelize the lost for Christ; to edify and equip the body of Christ; and to reach our community for Christ.
Four convictions sit underneath those two sentences — Scripture taught plainly, a destiny in every person, open doors, and readiness for Christ's return.
What we believeYour first Sunday, in short
The practical answers most people want before they visit a church for the first time.
We have our own lot on site at 109 Maple Avenue. No meters, no hunting for a spot.
Service starts when the doors open, so arriving a few minutes early is ideal. It runs about two hours.
Kids’ Church runs for roughly ages 3–12 during the service. We don’t currently run a nursery.
Some dress up, most don’t. Nobody will notice, and nobody will mind.
We also gather midweek — Bible study Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and a Monthly Prayer Meeting the last Friday of each month at 7:30 PM. See the full first-visit guide or send us a question before you come.

Yorkton is one branch of DICA worldwide
Destiny International Christian Assembly was founded in 2006 by Pastor Pre Ovia, who serves as General Overseer from the headquarters in London, UK. He had already spent over thirty years in ministry when God called him out to start DICA, and he still travels worldwide teaching and strengthening the body of Christ. A pastor of pastors, he has raised up many who now lead congregations of their own.
Pastor Tina Ovia co-labors with her husband and founded Daughters of Destiny (DOD) International, the women’s arm of DICA — a mentoring network built on the conviction that every woman has a gift and a sphere of influence in which to effect spiritual, economic and social change.
Being part of that family is why a church in Yorkton, Saskatchewan carries a vision this wide.
